La última reseña del año. Después de escuchar un montonal de OST, he descartado uno que otro material porque no sé si realmente valdría la pena ponerla en el blog, sin embargo fué otro año lleno de descubrimientos y más aún, de que confirman muchas cosas que ya sabía.
Después de echar un vistazo al GamePlay de Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, he de decir que es muy bueno en muchos sentidos, pero siento que uno que otro puritano/Fanboy de Silent Hill simplemente lo descartará y de hecho lo pondrá por debajo de Silent Hill: Homecoming.
Mi interpretación es esta: es como si Dan Brown escribiera la historia del primer Silent Hill, entretenida pero con falta de la verdadera esencia inicial de la franquicia.

Akira Yamaoka, sigue siendo el ~oh señor todopoderoso de la saga y en esta ocasión confirma que su razón de vivir es componer para Silent Hill, aunque es una verdadera lástima que haya abandonado Konami a finales de noviembre del año (aunque venga, a donde vaya tendrá éxito porque el taca taca es un genio).
El punto es que la música está apenas por debajo de Silent Hill 2, que para mí es el mejor OST de la saga y eso es dice mucho. El ambiente que se creó para el videojuego es sublime, la cual es una característica de cada uno de los juegos de la franquicia, que una de las melodías te conduce a tus propios temores, a tu propio infierno, pues después de todo, Silent Hill hace eso. Y no podemos dejar de mencionar que los temas que son cantados por Mary Elizabeth McGlynn es lo mejor que he escuchado en toda la Saga de Silent Hill, por mucho. Las letras ahora enfocadas al Hielo y a los pensamientos de la infancia, te conducen a pensar en pena, sufrimiento y creo que mucha gente se sentirá identificado con uno que otro tema.
A los veteranos de la saga, al escuchar los temas sentirán ciertos elementos ya utilizados de los anteriores juegos, sin embargo existe en partícular la sensación de que éstas congelándote en un pueblo fantasma... el frío hace que te canses rápido y se te dificulta enfocarte en buscar a tú hija, y eso es lo que lo hace verdaderamente especial.
Aunque en sí, ya no podemos sentirnos en la paranoia creada por japoneses pero nos dejan con el temor que siempre vive en nuestros corazones y la frustación que ésta vez, no podrás defenderte.
Conclusión: Obligatorio conseguirlo si eres fan de Silent Hill y mucho más si amas el trabajo de Akira Yamaoka.
